Girls in Old Gold becomes an affiliated member of Wolves 1877 Trust
Girls in Old Gold started for a simple reason.
Women and girls who support Wolves deserve a space that feels welcoming, safe, and proud.
So here’s news we’re really happy to share.
Girls in Old Gold is now an affiliated member of Wolves 1877 Trust.
You can check them out here: https://www.wolves1877trust.co.uk
This matters. Not because it sounds official, but because it helps us do more of what we are here to do.
Quick bit first: what is Wolves 1877 Trust?
Wolves 1877 Trust is an independent supporters’ trust for Wolverhampton Wanderers fans.
They focus on listening to supporters, gathering views, and speaking up on issues that affect fans. That can include things like:
- ticketing and affordability
- supporter experience at Molineux and away
- communication between fans and the club
- equality, inclusion, and fan wellbeing
They also run surveys and share updates so supporter voices are organised and easier to hear.
What does “affiliated member” mean for us?
It means Girls in Old Gold is now connected to a wider, established network of Wolves supporters who care about making things better for fans.
We stay independent. We stay Wolves. We stay female focused.
But affiliation helps us with things like:
- a clear route to raise issues that affect women and girls
- stronger links with other Wolves fan voices
- more chances to share feedback and learn from what works
- a better platform for positive change, on and off the pitch
Why we’ve done it
We already have over 150 members in Girls in Old Gold, which shows how many women and girls want a stronger, safer, more welcoming space around Wolves.
By joining forces with Wolves 1877 Trust, we can amplify those voices even more, and make sure they’re heard through an established supporters’ network. It’s not about replacing what we’ve built, it’s about strengthening it. It makes our collective voice harder to ignore.
What happens next?
This is a building step.
We want to keep growing a community that:
- brings women and girls together around Wolves
- helps fans feel more confident going to games
- supports each other on matchdays and away days
- speaks up when something needs improving
If you’ve followed Girls in Old Gold from the start, thank you. If you’re new here, welcome. There’s space for you.
